HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

Today is one of my favorite holidays...Don't you love the Whitman's samplers, heart shaped Godiva boxes, and Russell Stovers boxes. mmm mmm!  What better way to show some one you love them than with a hand made card. Here are a few I was commissioned to create for a few friends.

This card was created with a stamp from Inkadinkado. I love their kid quotes stamps they are so funny, yet so darn true.

This card was inspired from a pack of Basic Grey paper I had never used! It was for a friend's mom! I used a Sizzix embossing folder and a stamp from Technique Tuesday Mother's Day stamp set. The postage stamp is from a Cuttlebug set. I think will enter card in the Stampin Sisters with Christ challenge this week.
(Crossing fingers)

I loved the owls and sentiment in this card. The stamp set is from Unity Stamps, the paper from Tuesday morning (LOL) the border punch and the felt hearts are from Martha Stewart. Awww so sweet! I think I will enter this card in the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge.  The challenge this week is to create a happy card.  I think this card oozes happiness don't you?

This card is for a friend's husband. She wanted something different and fun. The cardstock is from Basic Grey, The stamp is from Inkadinkado. The kraft paper card base is made from  100% recycled paper. (Save the planet!!!) The SWAK embellie is from K and Company. The stamped sentiment on the inside of the card is from Technique Tuesday's Mothers' Day stamp set. I stapled some Good for One Kiss tickets inside the card for hubby to use at his leisure!  LOLOL

Finally, Valentine's Day isn't just for the ladies. Our men need love too!  Here is an example for a more masculine card for that special someone in a lady's life! This card includes cardstock from My Mind's Eye and a variety pack at Big Lot!  (LOL-I believe in scrappin' on a budget) The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company.

I hope this Valentine's card got your creative mojo going! Have a great chocolate..I mean Valentine's Day!!

LOADS OF LOVE

Hey Everyone,

My Friday post for Unity Friday didn't make it to the blog. So today is Unity Monday!!  I purchased a cute little {Ippity} Stamp set from Unity Stamps called "Loads of Love".

With Valentine's day approaching quickly this stamp set is perfect for someone you have loads of love for! LOL

For this card I went to my stash of paper/cardstock scraps The heart patterned paper is Recollections the pink card stock and kraft paper are from a box of scraps I purchase last year from Michaels!
I stamped the image with black Memento ink and used my waterbrush and my water color pencils to add a little color to the stamped image. The sentiment was stamped with red Archival ink. (I think)!

Can you tell how much fun I am having with these Unity Stamps?! They are so fun.

This weeks challenge the from Stampin Sisters In Christ blog comes from one of my favorite scriptures

Scripture:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life..."
Challenge
Create a card/project that shows love.  It could be a heart, or the word love.  My extra-bonus challenge is:  give your card to someone who might need to be reminded that they are LOVED.

The Lord had so much love for us that he gave his SON to stand in the gap for our sin! HE TRULY HAS LOADS OF LOVE FOR US!

Here's the real challenge who am I going to give this card to!? HMMMMMMMMM.

TULLE AND FEATHERS

HEY HAPPY SCRAPPERS!

It's really funny where you find scrappy/cardmaking inspiration. On Friday one of my co-workers gave a peacock feather and a piece of tulle that was used as "gift garnish" on a present she had received. She was convinced that I could do something with it. Well I guess she was right. Here is what I created with that tulle and that pretty peacock feather!

The card is a A2 craft paper cardstock. The green paper is from my ever growing paper stash. The stamps are from Unity Stamp Company of course!!!  LOL The clock is stamped using Rusty Hinge Distress Ink (I think). The quote from Ralph W. Emerson is also from Unity Stamp Co. It is stamped in a brown dye ink from my stash. (Whispers dye ink caddy) I tore the green cardstock and balled up and inked the parchment paper.
My hands were all inky but I loved the way it turned out! And just think it all started with tulle and a feather!

I love this little card so much I am entering it in the Stampin' Sisters In Christ Challenge this week.
The Scripture to the Challenge is from Philippians 4:8“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.."

The challenge is to create a card/project true to your style. I guess this is true to my style because I love to take something that would be thrown away and put it to good use. Whether it's left over ribbon, tulle, a feather or paper scraps. I think everything has a purpose. I think that's how we sometimes see ourselves in the Kingdom, we see ourselves as scraps, less than perfect. But thank GOD He sees us as useful in the body of Christ! We just have to be open to being used by HIM!
